Individual support workers are responsible for one on one support workers with young children with developmental and intellectual disabilities using a variety of applied behavior analysis techniques. Individual support workers provide services at a child’s home. Supervision and training is provided by the service coordinator and agency
Job requirements are listed below:
- Provide assistance to behavioral therapists in developing behavioral therapy programs.
- Provide behavioral interventions to children and adolescents in home and community settings.
- Implements an individualized service plan for each child and youngster.
- Manage and work with youth with behavioral problems.
- Develop and initiate safety standards for youth at all times.
- Monitor, record, and document observations of youth behavior.
- Modify daily activities of youth appropriate to behavioral interventions.
- Instruct youths on positive behavioral aspects.
- Develop and initiate appropriate recreational activities for youth.

Responsible for assisting the Behavioral Support Consultants in the following duties; classroom observation, residential behavioral intervention, data collection; training staff to implement interim behavior protocols and behavior intervention plans; and treatment integrity monitoring. Each individual also may be assigned to one or more special projects including administrative and organization tasks associated with these assignments (e.g., crisis intervention training). The Behavioral Support Technicians are expected to consistently and successfully perform all essential functions of the position. Behaviour support technician would be able to work with all vulnerable sectors with the supervision of the supervisor.

- Provide crisis intervention for individuals and assist with programming.
- Collect, organize and maintain direct observational data

Educational Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in special education, psychology, or a related field
- Minimum of one year direct clinical or educational experience with children or adults with developmental disabilities, preferably in an educational setting
- Must demonstrate knowledge and competencies in Applied Behavior Analysis including (but not limited to) understanding definitions and characteristics, legal and ethical standards, behavioral assessment, designing behavioral analytic programs, and evaluation progress

You have comprehensive understanding about our holistic services such as making regular visits, organizing and implementing activities teaching children how to facilitate peer relationships for our autistic children, managing mentally disturbed children by using role play techniques. TSW Therapeutic Support worker can possess the following educational backgrounds; Behavioural Sciences, Psychology, sociology, Child and Youth Worker (CYW), Educational Assistant (EA) Fitness Consultant, Addiction Counsellor, Social Service Worker and Mental Health Worker. Behaviour experience is also preferred.

Facilitator worker works as a professional behaviour support worker within a clinical multidisciplinary team that follows a biopsychosocial model of treatment and intervention for children, youth and adults with complex developmental, physical, intellectual and emotional challenges. They implement the comprehensive care or service plan of each supported individual. They consider the preferences, comfort and safety of the supported individual, families and care partners. In the provision of all support. A significant role of the Unique facilitator worker is to implement behaviour support plans and to support individuals who are experiencing challenging moments and also to intervene in behavioral crises .
